Introduction to Smartphone Photography ("iPhoneography")

May 4, 2013 (Sat)

Pike Place Market, Seattle, WA

Sometimes the best camera in the world is the one that's always with you!

Not only are smartphones small and discreet, but a rich collection of applications opens up artistic possibilities not possible with traditional cameras. Come discover why news organizations like Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and National Geographic have started using smartphone images in their publications!

Set against the backdrop of Seattle's world famous Pike Place Market, this one-day workshop will focus on using your phone as a photographic and artistic tool. Between flying fish, floral displays, and colorful produce there's no shortage of interesting subjects!

Spend the morning learning Dale's favorite techniques and applications for getting high quality and creative images, then in the afternoon venture into the market to practice your skills firsthand. There will be lots of opportunities for one-on-one instruction. At the end of the day gather to share your images and see creative techniques used by others.

Dale Baskin is an adventure and travel photographer/filmmaker who has traveled to 35+ countries and worked in environments ranging from alpine summits to the deep jungles. His work has appeared internationally at venues such as the Banff International Mountain Film Festival.
